Origin
Our organization is registered in Barmer (Rajasthan). Organization is mainly working on gender, women empowerment, child rights (Survival, protection development, participation, children’s best interest, Accountability and non-discrimination), and dalit rights and upliftment issues through integrated development and right based approach. Because we have skills in theater and social work, we are working as volunteers since last 3 year. Now our organization is registered under society registration Act 1958. Our registration number is 109/bmr/2006-07 dated on 5/10/2006.

MOTHER organizes meetings/consultations involving these communities/social activists to develop a common strategy to work on these issues. In these meetings there was a consensus to promote a collective action on this issue and form an organization. With the result, Mother Organization came into existence. Now it is registered. It is actively working in (Barmer & Balotra Block) Initially We have decided to work in Barmer and Jaisalmer district of the State .
Background
Presently we are working with “Jogi” and “Nat” community. Nat communities belong to Scheduled caste, and the Jogi community is vagabond and they are known for loitering from one place to another place for livelihood. People belonging to Jogi community are landless and their existence is based on mercy of others. In Nat communities begging & prostitution care their traditional profession , The refer themselves as decedents of Natraj (Lord Shiva ) and evidences of history reveals that their basic profession was of conducting street dances, rope –plays etc .However since ages they were exploited by different kings and emperors and other intruders and in present times thy have adopted prostitution as their profession . The women and girls of this community are called as a prostitute and brothel.
We have initiated our effort for awareness generation on human rights and education through conducting different training, orientation and other activities ( which incorporate orientation of life skill education , gender orientation , Discovery of dreams etc) .We believe that awareness about self and surrounding through adequate education and training can only become an effective tool for bring certain and expected changes in their life status which can further provide them rooms for adopting other profession and acquiring self dignity .
Presently we have started schools for children of community in Jogiyon ki Dari, Barmer. This is an evening school where we work for skill development of children through Joyful learning techniques viz games, stories and theater activities with respect to their perception level and standard. In next step we want to form a children’s Club. This is the voluntary action and our organization is organizing it at an initial stage.
